12" clearance from bracket to bar. Must drill 3/16" pilot hole prior to mounting bolts. This unit must be mounted into solid studs. If studs ar not 16" center line, a 2" x 6" wooden plate must be used for mounting. Four 3/8" x 4" lag bolts with washers included. Unit is black. Same day shipping if order is placed in morning. Made out of heavy 14 gauge material not light weight 16 gauge material.
